Set the scene
- Translucent blocks or wooden window blocks
- A clear, flat play surface
Works beautifully with: James / Acrylic blocks / Laguna.
An invitation to play
- Arrange the blocks upright on a steady surface. Leave space between them like artworks in a gallery.
- Invite your child to look through each window and describe how the view changes. Keep play at table or floor level, away from window ledges.
- Ask your child to pick their favorite view or angle after looking through each window from different views and then ask them to recreate it as a drawing or painting.
- Choose a title for each little artwork they make and take turns being the gallery guide.
A LITTLE QUESTION TO OPEN THINGS UP
“What is the name of your new artwork and what memories, places or feelings does it remind you of?”
Let it grow
Draw the same object as it appears through two different angles or using different colors. Talk about what stayed the same and what changed.
Follow the age guidance on your product packaging. Use only age-appropriate pieces and supervise play. Keep small parts away from children under 3.
