A bridge to somewhere

Problem solvingEarly math

Set the scene

  • Wooden building blocks
  • A strip of paper for a pretend river

Works beautifully with: Any building set / Laguna.

An invitation to play

  1. Place a strip of paper on the floor to make a river.
  2. Invite your child to build a bridge that reaches from one side to the other. Keep the river narrow enough for the blocks you have.
  3. Test the bridge with a block as a pretend traveler. Adjust the supports if needed.

A LITTLE QUESTION TO OPEN THINGS UP

“What makes this bridge strong enough to cross?”

Let it grow

Make the river a little wider. Can you find a different design using the same pieces?

Follow the age guidance on your product packaging. Use only age-appropriate pieces and supervise play. Keep small parts away from children under 3.
