Wood:
Our wooden toys are made from carefully selected natural materials, including birch, limewood, or solid beechwood, depending on the product (please refer to each product description for specific details). Each piece celebrates the natural grain and texture of real wood.
Because we avoid heavy lacquers and plastic coatings, the surface may feel slightly textured or “raw” compared to mass-produced toys. This is intentional—and part of the charm and character of working with real, natural materials. Designed to be durable, open-ended, and long-lasting, our wooden toys are made to be enjoyed for years and passed along as children grow.
Acrylic:
Not all acrylic is created equal. At Maison Rue, we use high-quality, crystal-clear acrylic specifically made for children’s play. Unlike mass-produced plastic toys, which are often opaque, cheap, lightweight, and designed for short-term use, our acrylic is dense, durable, and made to last.
Our Acrylic is CPC certified and safety tested to meet and pass all CPSIA standards, including testing for lead and phthalates. The clarity of our acrylic is intentional—allowing light, color, and transparency to become part of the play experience, while reflecting our commitment to refined materials and thoughtful design.
Strong yet luminous, acrylic offers a modern alternative to traditional plastic toys—one that feels substantial, safe, and beautifully made for open-ended play.
Please Note: Acrylic is a premium, durable material, but unlike glass it is naturally softer and may display light surface marks, fine hairline scratches, or subtle cosmetic variations from manufacturing, hand assembly, packaging, transit and over time through normal play. These are normal characteristics of the material and production process and are not considered defects. They do not affect the safety, durability, or play value of the product. Every piece is carefully inspected before leaving our warehouse to ensure it meets our quality standards.
